Saw the interior as part of OHNY and it really is amazing. Each of the meeting rooms is splendidly decorated in a different theme, rich with motifs from across the span of history.
I took so many photos, here is a small sample. ![]() Colonial Room ![]() Entry to the Hollender Room ![]() Grand Lodge Room ![]() ![]() Renaissance Room ![]() Jacobean Room ![]() Ionic Room ![]() Doric Room ![]() Grand Lodge Room ![]() French Ionic Last edited by MidtownGuy; October 15th, 2009 at 11:28 AM. The rooms are really "decked out" in a lot of plaster detailing. A renovation took place during the late 80's after years of men smoking cigars, pipes, etc. had badly blackened things.
Here are some more. I filled up my camera that day. ![]() Corinthian Room ![]() Jacobean Room ![]() Corinthian Room ![]() Doric Room ![]() ![]() French Doric Rooom ![]() Each of the rooms has a restored organ ornamented slightly differently to reflect the theme of that room. I went back and identified some rooms with captions.
We didn't see all of them, but were told any individual can show up during the week to get a one-on-one tour that is more comprehensive. |
